Become a witch or mage and learn magical spells! Attack enemy sorcerers with fireballs or frost attacks and battle zombies and dragons. Tales of Magic can be played at no cost but, if you wish, you can exchange gems for gold and participate in bonus Premium adventures by purchasing gem tickets.
Your mage character
You can equip your character with special items (see also Shop) to make him or her more resistant to attack. During battles your character loses health points and mana, both of which are regenerated over time or can be restored quickly by means of special magical potions (see also Shop). Protect yourself from unexpected attacks by building a wizard's tower. The tower will protect you as long as you are not actively working. You can equip your tower with magical items to upgrade it into a fortress. Your character's choice of spells may lead him/her to become an evil or a good magician. Your character may also become a master of a particular spell class if many spells of a certain element have been learned. For example, a magician who has learned all three levels of the first 10 fire-based spells will become a minor master of fire magic and will be granted additional abilities.
Learn magic spells in the school of magic
You can send your magician to the school of magic to learn new techniques and gather experience points. Once your character has gained enough experience points, your magician reaches the next level and is able to learn a new spell or improve existing spell casting abilities to cause more damage to enemies during duels! The more your magician learns, the more difficult it becomes for an enemy to defeat your character. Each magician may only spend a couple of hours in the school of magic. With a gem ticket you spend more time at school (See also Premium).
Earn gold by working
Your magician can earn gold by doing odd jobs in the library. You can work as long as you wish (up to 12 hours at a time) and will earn more gold as your level increases (up to level 20).
The shop
In the shop you can buy magical items that will protect you during battles or restore lost health points. You need gold or gems to buy such items; coins can be earned by working, going on adventures or by defeating opponents during a duel or coven battle!
Destroy your enemy in a duel
Practice makes perfect, therefore you should send your magician into battle with enemy sorcerers as often as possible. When you defeat an enemy, your character will receive experience points and becomes more powerful. You also receive a small portion of your defeated enemy's gold and your position in the hall of fame improves with each victory.
Join forces with other magicians in a coven
Your magician can join forces with other characters to fight the common enemy. Your coven can also carry out duels with other covens and rob them of gold and prestige if your coven is able to defeat them. Your coven can take part in special adventures and defeat powerful enemies. Your coven can also create an individual banner to represent the clan.
Defeat the dragon!
Once your character has reached level 10, you will be strong enough to go on a dangerous journey and face mighty opponents such as fiery dragons, skeletons and other horrifying creatures! If you are victorious, you will return laden with gold and experience points and will be eternally honored in the hall of fame. Notice: To participate in an adventure you must have a Premium account.
Become a hero!
In the hall of fame the best magicians find eternal recognition for their amazing deeds. Here you can see which magician has achieved the most victories in duels and adventures and will also see which coven has defeated the most enemies during coven duels. Magicians who have undergone especially difficult adventures and succeeded in surviving and bringing back a unique item will also receive a plaque of honor here.
